School treasurers work quietly behind the scenes in a critical role. They keep accounting records and make sure schools have the financial controls to operate successfully. Each year the Florida Conference Office of Education holds a meeting for all the treasurers. This provides the opportunity for networking, sharing ideas to help with their day to day operations. Led by George Carrazana, Associate Superintendent of Finance, this year’s meeting took place on Sunday, February 2. Presentations included topics on the spiritual life of a treasurer, preparing for an audit, scholarship allocation and best practices, technology updates and more.
