Because we believe that every child has the right to know Jesus as Savior and Lord
We believe that education is a significant and vital part of the evangelistic outreach of the Seventh-day Adventist church. Our mission is to develop the God-given potential of students through a Christ-centered experiential curriculum, real-world learning, quality instruction, and a grace-filled environment, creating Christian leaders who will remain rooted in their love for Jesus and His church.
We believe that all educators and children have the right to reach their God-given potential and are responsible for using that potential for His Glory. And so...
- We support educators to best help children
- We supply excellent teachers and leaders
- We provide curricular frameworks and innovation for quality education
- We have an intentional focus on professional development to grow teachers in best practices
- We assess student learning and evaluate and build teacher capacity
- We provide growth opportunities in spiritual, academic, physical, social, and emotional development
By moving from vision to practice
Our education system will reflect a collaborative environment where the vision for direction emerges from all levels.
Our schools will be student-centered communities of learning where all stakeholders work cooperatively to unleash students’ God-given unlimited potential.
Our teachers strive to operate within a supportive, grace-filled network that values and enables their journey of continuous professional growth.
For Curriculum and Instruction:
Our curriculum and instruction involve authentic, Christ-centered, relevant encounters with learning that are personally meaningful to the student and result in holistic development.
Our school environments exemplify a climate of safety, grace, and acceptance of individual differences that align with our faith.
Our office will promote an effective and vibrant educational system that aligns with best practices.
Imagine reaching all children in Florida
What if our students understood their place in God’s Universe, in His world, His state, His cities, communities, and His plan for them in their neighborhoods? And even more, imagine this; if all children came to know His place in their hearts! Then the light of the Glory of Christ would spread throughout Florida and the world!
We will Succeed Together by trusting in God’s leading, building trust and buy-in with educators, boards, and church communities. Through our school-nurturing process our goal will be as a community of educators to reach our students for Christ. We want your support to bring this vision to pass.
FLCOE In Summary
We do things a bit differently, and that's the way we like it
The Florida Conference Office of Education is a private school district in the state of Florida with 30 PK-12 schools with over 4000 students. With our early childhood centers, we provide accredited education from birth through twelfth grade.
We value every child as a unique individual, created in the image of God with distinctive gifts, talents, and abilities. As Seventh-day Adventist educators, it is our belief that the work of true education is to equip students to think and to act with the breadth of mind, clearness of thought, and the courage of their convictions. We believe that each child has a special purpose for being placed on this earth. With this in mind, we seek to provide every opportunity for the spiritual, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth of every student and teacher entrusted to our care. It is our fervent prayer and aim to see and discover infinite possibilities in our students–inspiring them to love learning, respect others, and develop a character in the likeness of the Creator.
